MOUNT CARMEL

This large 2-story family home was well-cared for, yet largely untouched since its beginning in 1990. It was time to make some changes, and that proved to be extremely satisfying and worthwhile. First, we skimmed all the ceilings (including the 20’ ceilings in the great room and front entrance) in the home and installed LED pot lighting to create a clean, modern look. Next, we removed an old brick fireplace in the great room and replaced it with a gas fireplace with a gorgeous ledger stone and granite mantle. The flooring that runs through the main areas and much of the second floor is now a nice, wide-plank, oak flooring with a comfortable feel to it.

The kitchen, bathrooms, main hallway and mud-room area have a slate-finished porcelain tile laid in a beautiful Versailles pattern. We also overhauled the ensuite bathroom in the home, removing a large soaker tub and old fiberglass shower unit to replace it with a large shower area, built-in bench and granite shelf, completing the shower with custom glass walls. A stunning maple vanity with a sit-down make-up area graces the opposite wall. It is truly a luxurious bathroom. Finally, the kitchen was given much love in this process. It has solid maple cabinetry with a completely custom hand-crafted stain colour, crowned by beautiful, dark, granite countertops! The open space and great natural lighting in this home highlight the perfect paint job, as well as the home’s unique artwork all done by our client!
